One of the famous gardens, Yusentei. It was my first visit in ten years, and it was peaceful. They still sold matcha, and I grabbed some red bean porridge. I strolled around, enjoying the leisurely pace, and lost track of time. Spent a relaxed afternoon. Since it's tucked away in a local village, walking along the streets gives you a real taste of Japan. It's a pity there weren't as many elementary school students as there were ten years ago. #garden - BOFF

For ¥200 you can enjoy a relaxing garden with less tourists. It's great. Hard to get to but not impossible.

It's not a super big garden but very unique and secluded. The leaves are starting to change color and the contrast in colors makes it more fun to enjoy.

Tranquil little Japanese Garden. A little out of town. Take bus 12 from Hakata Station and it drops just in front of the garden. There's a 200 yen entrance fee, add another 300 yen and you will get tea with Japanese snack. Good place for visit if you want to Zen out. You'll probably spend up to an hour if you slowly take time to appreciate the environment.

We were there in early December. The park was not very well-kept and looked drab. The best Japanese Garden in Fukuoka is in Ohori Park in my opinion.
